Unfortunately, because deafness is generally invisible few people are aware of its existence! There are 2 main types of deafness, Conductive and Sensori-Neural. </b></b></p><b><b> <h2>Assisted Device Induction loops</h2> <p><b>Conductive hearing loss</b> Conductive deafness arises from any defect or blockage in those parts of the ear which conduct sound to the inner ear i.e. any defect or blockage in the outer or middle ear. This type of audiology can often be remedied medically or surgically. It is also the type of deafness that can be most easily helped by assisted device amplification. Unfortunately those suffering from conductive deafness often suffer from that plus some nerve deafness which complicates the choice of assisted device hearing aids. The effects of this vary greatly since the frequencies lost or damaged determine what a person hears. It is also possible to have damage to audiology nerve leading to the brain from the inner ear. This prevents the person from correctly interpreting the sounds he or she hears. </p> <p> Since 1995 we have worked closely with the deaf community developing new assisted device deaf resources and hearing aids called audio frequency inductive loops (AFILS). These are now installed in many high street shops, banks, etc., making the environment much more user friendly for wearers. The NanoLoop is the larger of the two and the controls have been designed to be particularly easy for stiff fingers to hold. </p> <p> The NanoLoop is the larger of the two and the controls have been designed to be particularly easy for stiff fingers to hold. The PicoLoop has a clamshell design like many of today's 'flip phones'. It can be clipped to a pocket or lapel for hands-free use. Both products let you control the mobile phone by starting and ending calls or changing the volume while you talk. </p> <p><A HREF="http://www.hearingenhancement.co.uk/"> What you need to use a NanoLoop or PicoLoop:- You must have a device that has a working T switch and a compatible digital mobile phone.
